DETERMINE YOUR BUDGET
Like it or not, most of us don’t have an unlimited budget. Creating a budget isn’t fun, but it is necessary.
MAKE A LIST
List everything that is important to you. Then prioritize it from must have, to liked to have. Click here for sample list.
Put on your walking shoes. Unless you’re already familiar with a venue, you’ll need to visit it. A friend’s referral is nice, but you need to see it for yourself. What’s important to you may be different.
CHOOSE YOUR VENUE
Take your list of everything you’d like to have, and rate each venue by this. Don’t let a venue dazzle you with something you didn’t list as important if it’s missing something that is.
It’s time to lock in the date. Don’t let the perfect venue slip from your hands while you stall. You will be required to pay a deposit at this time. If you don’t have it, ask if there is anyway to hold the date until you can come up with it.
Now that the date and venue are firm you can move onto everything else.
